Nadia Addezio is an Italian freelance journalist based in Rome. She focuses on North and West Africa, reporting on human rights in their multidimensional implications, resistance practices, African diasporas, environment, and migration. Her work emphasizes the social, political, economic, and geopolitical dimensions of these issues. Her countries of interest include Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Niger and Cameroon.

Her work regularly appears in il manifesto and Nigrizia, and she has also contributed to outlets such as Il Venerdì di Repubblica, L’Espresso, Domani, Altreconomia, Afrique XXI, l’Humanité, Untold Magazine, FairPlanet, Valigia Blu, and Valori.it.

As a freelance editor and proofreader, she collaborates with Confronti Magazine and Study Center, as well as with the IDOS Research Center. She also cover political events as a photographer.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Naples Federico II and a master’s degree in Journalism from the Lelio and Lisli Basso Foundation.
